How to Apply to the SIUH EM Residency
Thank you for your interest in the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital Program. We are a PGY 1-3 format program. We are currently recruiting for eight PGY-1 positions, entering in July. Fourth year medical students interested in a career in Emergency Medicine are encouraged to apply.
Our program has full accreditation from the ACGME.
SIUH participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Applications will be accepted via Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Paper application materials will not be accepted. Fourth year medical students should contact their medical school Dean's office for more information.
In order to apply to our program, every applicant must send us the following materials via ERAS:
1. USMLE scores
2. Dean's Letter
3. Official Medical School Transcript
4. Three letters of recommendation. At least two should consist of a eSLOE (Standard Letter of Evaluation) from emergency medicine faculty, preferably from two different rotations. More information about the eSLOE here.
Completed applications will be reviewed by our committee and interviews will be granted accordingly. We suggest that you complete your application as early as possible to improve your chances of obtaining an interview.
