Goal: 

Our mission is to develop fellows who will be the future leaders in medical education in the Emergency Medicine world.

Program Description:

The medical education fellowship is a focused experience consisting of specialized training in the fundamental elements of medical education within Emergency Medicine.

Fellows will participate in both formal fellow education sessions, as well as facilitated medical education journal clubs. They will also participate as teachers as part of the following curricula: intern orientation, longitudinal intern education sessions, weekly residency conference, simulation.

Education and Training:

Fellows will pursue a Masters of Science in Education (MSED) for Health Professions at Hofstra University.  LINK

Program Length:

2 years 

Clinical Requirements:

Fellows will work approximately 940 clinical hours per academic year in the emergency departments at Staten Island University Hospital (North site and Prince’s Bay site)

Prerequisites:

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine

July 1, 2024
