Dr. Averick, a Chicago native, and a long-suffering Cubs' fan (is there any other type?), moved to Staten Island in 1983.  He likes Staten Island because “It's New York, but it's not New York.” When he's not working, you might see him here running with his dog on the boardwalk or in Clove Lakes Park.  If you are in Colorado or Utah, you might see him skiing down a double diamond black slope with one of eight children.
